Christina Walters was convicted in the August 17, 1988, murders of 18-year-old Tracy Lambert and 21-year-old Susan Moore. She was also tried for the attempted murder of Debra Cheeseborough.
Walters was the leader of a local Crips gang and confessed to shooting several .32-caliber bullets into Cheeseborough, leaving her for dead. The killings were a gang-initiation rite and the young women were chosen at random. Walters did not realize, however, that Cheeseborough had survived the attack and would be able to identify both her and the other gang members...
